I know that the episode with Nate going to the Asia Song Festival in Seoul, Korea hasn't aired yet but I think he should go to Japan and see if there is a huge festival there. TVXQ as he saw was huge in Seoul but they are also really big in Japan. Now I'm not just saying this because I'm a TVXQ fan, but I think the fans here in America and where ever the show is broadcasted wish to see more of TVXQ as we like them as much as the fans in Korea do. If you look for Tohoshinki in Japan you should be able to see the popularity there as well. I don't know I think it would be a great episode like the Seoul Festival will be.
Thanks for taking the time to read my suggestion. Happy festival hunting.
One that would be really good is Kohaku in Japan. It is held New Years Eve and all the bands that perform had to be invited. Only the top grossing artists in Japan get an invite and there's a bit of a battle between males and females.
Kōhaku was once the most-watched show on Japanese television of the year. One major factor was that New Year's Eve in Japan is a holiday traditionally spent at home (see Ōmisoka).
Literally "Red and White Song Battle," the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The "red" team or akagumi (赤組, 紅組?) is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the "white" team or shirogumi (白組?) is all male (or groups with male vocals). The honor of performing on Kōhaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-Pop artists and enka singers can perform. In addition to the actual music performances, the costumes, hair-styles, makeup, dancing, and lighting are also important. Even today, a performance on Kōhaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer's career because of the show's large reach.
I completely agree Nitomi. When I was watching Nate in the Asia Song Festival I couldn't stop laughing and grinning seeing TVXQ! but aside from that, I think the Kohaku is a GREAT idea. Becuase as ther others have said, it's THE event to be on and it showcases Japan's GREATEST talents.
Also, Nate would get to meet TVXQ once again, where they'll instead be known as THSK (the Japanese equivalent of their name) where they showcase more of their acapelle talents, proving that they are more than just a boyband
OMG!! Nate thank you so much for bringing TVXQ (DBSK, DBSG, THSK, TVfXQ) to the US TV!!! NOw since you went to the Asian Song Festival in Korea, another great place to go and visit would be Japan for Kohaku!!! There you can see TVXQ again and also meet with other talented singers from Japan!!! It would be awesome if you went and got to see the show!!! So Japan-Kohaku for New Years??? How about it Nate?? Some more "Sexy Chin Dance"??
kohaku in japan its a must go since you went to Seoul Korea might as well go to Japan and reunite with your new buddies TVXQ but as tohoshinki in japan who are like the first non japanese group to be invited to the kohaku eitherway thanks for interviewing them for the Asian Song festival show ^^ I loved it! GO to kohaku
ok, i was registered a while ago after watching your coverage in ASF 2008. i recommend you to go to Japan for their yearly Kohaku festival. Kohaku fest is a respected festival in Japan, top japanese singer would be there, including newcomer, on every December 31st. You shouldn't miss it. It's a great episode for the month of January right? yeah JAPAN~ hope you'd come. thanks and take care! =)
go to the kohaku festival in japan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! recently, i saw the segment on asia song vestifal with TVXQ and it would be super cool if you could meet them again in japan
beside korea, they're also popular in jpn! (known as tohoshinki over there)
most definitely
because it is the biggest if not the best
festival in Japan and only
the best of the best prestigious singers can perform here
and it has been going on for their 59th year. so that is something
so i definitely highly recommend it
